The Business Start-up Centre Kosovo (BSCK) assists graduate students and young graduates of all faculties of all universities in Kosovo in establishing Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs). It offers practical training courses and consultancy as well as accessible micro-credits for the most promising business ideas. The overall objectives of the project activities are:
Strategic Project Goals:
- To bring together the Higher Education sector and the Business sector in Kosovo in order to better meet the needs of the labor market;
- To contribute to the economic development in Kosovo;
- To improve the regional trade and investment climate to accelerate European economic integration.
Project objectives
- To establish a sustainable BSC in Prishtina, drawing on expertise at existing BSCs in the Netherlands as well as in South East Europe;
- To raise the entrepreneurial spirit among graduate students and recent graduates;
- To strengthen links between the education and the business sector;
- To develop training and SME support processes for the target group in close cooperation with EU and SEE experts and representatives of the business sector.
Competitions
The BSCK wants to give all young people in Kosovo a chance to put their ideas into business. In order to do this, there are three phases in which young people can join the BSCK:
- The Business Idea Competition
- The Business Plan Competition
- The Final Business Plan Competition
The Business Idea Competition and the Business Plan Competition are open to all people in Kosovo between 18 and 35 years of age. The winners of the business plan competition are allowed to enter the final business plan competition.
Training
The winners of the competitions mentioned above will receive training, from Business plan writing to business development; accounting, human resource management, marketing etc. these trainings are developed by international, regional and local experts in business trainings. The trainings are taught by professional trainers from the SEE-region and Kosovo.
Business Start up support
The 10 best business plans will receive support from the BSC Kosovo in starting up their own business. Next to the extensive training, you will receive:
- Free Registration of the Business
- Assistance from the BSC Kosovo fund, offering micro-finance especially designed for start-ups
- 100 hours free consultancy in order to make the business sustainable
A professional micro-finance institution will guide you through the first two years of operating your business to make sure your business will be able to continue afterwards.
