                                  100 hours consultancy

Fadil and … are partners in business as well as partners in life. Just when they were thinking about an new challenge, starting a “green” initiative, they got into contact with BSC Kosovo. “BSCK helped us to narrow down our ideas. We started off with ideas, now we have a business plan”. The consultancy hours they won were used for market research on used car batteries and for fine-tuning their business plan. When the machinery arrives from the US , expected in 2 weeks, they’ll start producing 1 of their products, bio diesel.
Bio Green Factory will produce bio diesel and re-condition used car batteries. Next to that they have big future plans for implementing other renewable energy strategies. Concretely, in the next few weeks they’ll start off with the production of bio diesel from waste food and fat that they’ll collect through food production businesses and restaurants. Next to that they’re still in the preparation phase of re-conditioning used car batteries. They need to invest in the technology and are looking for partners, companies, to implement this process.
The lack of a national environmental policy framework is causing obstacles in the starting phase of their business. Registration and licensing is a problem, because renewable energy is still a relatively new concept in Kosovo, so there is no existing category they belong to and no law or special tax framework. Also there’s a lack of expertise on renewable energy and implementation of renewable energy production in Kosovo. Fadil is traveling around Europe to visit conferences, gain knowledge and link up with experts.

BSCK has been a great support, besides the training and consultancy they were always there for other questions and requests. At the moment Bio Green Factory needs more consultancy and expert advice on implementing renewable energy production, in particular the production of bio diesel and re-conditioning of used car batteries.
