The Business Start-Up Centre Kosovo organized a two-day workshop on Entrepreneurship in University curricula. The workshop took place on 20th and 21st of June 2008 in Hotel OK in Prizren.
The objectives of this workshop were to further improve entrepreneurship curricula and entrepreneurial learning capacities in higher educational institutions, focus on Regions / institutions such as Prishtina, Peja, Osijek and Bitola, and make some concrete action plans for each institute/region.
The facilitators of this workshop were Mr. Jaap van Tilburg, Chairman of Top Spin International and Senior Consultant of School of Management and Governance at the University of Twente, and Prof. Besnik Krasniqi, Professor of Economic Faculty at the University of Prishtina.

The workshop was attended by 21 participants, professors and students from J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek Croatia, Faculty of Technical Sciences Bitola of University St. Klimentski Ohridski Macedonia, and University of Prishtina and University of Peja Kosovo. It included general sessions, poster discussion sessions and an exchange of ideas and information among participants
The workshop began with welcoming remarks by Ahmet Rushiti, Project Officer at BSC Kosovo and introductions by Jaap van Tilburg. Then it proceeded with a brief introduction of each participant, introducing their names and positions, what motivates them for entrepreneurship training and expectations they have on this workshop.
Presentations by participants were made in order to assure that all attendees were fully informed about the Curriculum at Educational Institutions of regions of Prishtina, Peja, Osijek and Bitola. Adriatik Hoxha from Faculty of Economy at University of Prishtina Kosovo, Slavica Singer from J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek Croatia, and Konstantin Petkovski from the Faculty of Technical Sciences Bitola of University St. Klimentski Ohridski Macedonia presented the curriculum for bachelor’s and master’s degree at their institutions.
The first day ended with a presentation by Besnik Krasniqi on Training Modules and Experiences of BSC Kosovo, explaining how these modules help students do business in Kosovo.
The second day began with a presentation by Jaap van Tilburg on International Examples on Entrepreneurship, giving attention to examples from University of Twente.
A session that was interesting for all participants was the Poster Session for Students, where they exchanged ideas with their professors on the needs of students and what can be done to improve the curricula on their universities.
Of the same significance was the Teamwork on Action plan between participants where they have to come up with ideas of potential modules for inclusion in University Curriculum, what teaching modules to include and how can there be a better regional cooperation regarding the Entrepreneurship in University Curricula.
A fruitful discussion occurred among participants after each team prepared a poster presentation of their action plans.
The workshop concluded with a short evaluation for the teachers and students on their satisfaction about the workshop. All of them stated that are highly satisfied about this workshop and have learned from other participants.
Finally, the Workshop participants strongly endorsed the need for more funding directed to young entrepreneurs.
The workshop ended with an open exchange of ideas and information on how to improve the cooperation among the regions, in order to help the students and the youth of these regions.
