BSCK Award Winning Ceremony |

The Business Start-Up Centre Kosovo in an auspicious event announced the winners of its Business Plan Competition. The award winning ceremony was held on the 23rd of June 2008 in restaurant ‘Collection’ in Prishtina.
This ceremony was attended by representatives of government, international community, universities and business world.
The guest of honor for the evening was Mrs. Margriet Struijf Head of Diplomatic office of Netherland in Prishtina. One of the distinguished guests was also Prof. Enver Hasani, the Rector of the University of Pristina, who in a speech held thanked the BSCK for helping students of UP and other young entrepreneurs in starting their own businesses. Rector Hasani also talked about the importance of BSCK trainings and the transfer of ECTS accredited certificates and the Curricula Development Workshop held in order to incorporate BSCK modules and teaching methodology into Faculty of Economics and Peja Business School Curriculum.
The next speaker at this ceremony was Mr. Nebojsa Simic, former BSCK expert and trainer and now BSC Kragujevac Director. Mr. Simic revealed the remarkable moments he had while working as trainer of first module in the first BSCK cycle. He emphasized the importance of BSC Kosovo as a good example for other BSC in the region.
Next, Armend Ukshini – a BSCK participant described how BSCK training broadened his business horizons, and how he learned to turn the business weaknesses into business strengths. “When I started to attend the 10 week long Business Skills Training, I was wearing khaki pants with lots of pockets and a T-shirt, in the end of the trainings I was wearing business suit” Armend said trying to portrait how the BSCK had influenced him.
In this event, 62 Participants of the Business Skills Training were given ECTS accredited Certificates by the two experts Prof. Visar Ademi from Macedonia and Prof. Ardiana Gashi from Kosovo, who worked on developing the trainings to these young men and women;
The actual awards ceremony was the highlight of the evening. The first entrepreneurs who graduated from BSCK first cycle namely, Mr. Valton Berisha from ‘Global Alliance Network’ and Mr. Petrit Kelmendi from’ Big Advertising’ had the honor of announcing their 12 new counterparts, namely winners of Cycle III. On this occasion Val and presenting the certificates for them. The winners and the names of their businesses are:

Talking on behalf of 500 young men and women who have benefited from BSCK program, Mrs. Belma Bajrami – Kastrati, BSCK Director, presented a humble recognition to the Head of Dutch Diplomatic Office for ‘backing and empowering Kosovar youth”.
As important it was to announce new generation of winners, it also was of great significance promotion of the previous winners. As a complementary part of this ceremony a first mini-fair consisting of start up companies was organized, 14 companies that have been supported by BSCK since they were established last year and beginning of this year had a chance to introduce themselves and their products and services in this fair.
